After all the kids thoroughly thrashed the pinata, a big blue and white bird, Alayna thought the critter's neck made a perfectly enchanting hat. Works for me.

I often like to convert flower shots to b&w. They're uncommon, and help draw attention to the delicate textures and patterns that color so often overwhelms. This backlit Day Lily was nice, but kind of ho-hum, in color. I like it better this way.

I shot this little lady as the light was starting to fail, so I had to push the exposure and it's a little noisy. I'd been watching her all afternoon, and she was even more agressive than they usually are. I don't even want to think about what the red on her beak is. We don't put any dye in our feeders.

This is my cousin Scott shortly after tossing his niece in the pool. I think this picture really captures who he is: d*** the torpedos full speed ahead gleeful mischievous glint in the eye half out of the frame wild man.
